Rajasthan is home to the elite street circus performers from this fascinating region's legendary entertainment communities, who combine their amazing skills - with optional live musical support from the World famous Rajasthan Heritage Brass Band- in performing breathtaking acts of courage and bravery.
The cast of aerialists, acrobats, musicians, slack-rope walkers, dancers and puppeteers and the eye-watering displays by their fakir, present a colourful, vibrant, fast-moving extravaganza of intrigue, drama, feats of daring, music, laughter and surprise.
Their spectacular, awe-inspiring and unique shows toured Europe extensively all through the summers of 2015 - 2019, featuring in the 2018 CIRCUS250 celebrations and being the resident artists in The Travelling Circus shows at Mercato Metropolitano in London throughout November and December 2019.
Now, the revitalised Circus Raj return to touring in 2020 with an exciting and thrilling new show, designed to capture the hearts and mind of audiences of all ages at festivals, melas, community events and carnivals. Also on offer, circus skills workshops, henna painting and authentic Rajasthani merchandise.
Their past tours have taken them to melas in Glasgow, Southampton, Edinburgh, Belfast, Bradford, Manchester Chelmsford, Thetford, Birmingham, Middlesbrough, Loughborough and Leicester Melas, Walthamstow Garden Party; numerous UK festivals including Glastonbury, Camp Bestival, Bestival, Lunar, Imagine Watford, Richmond upon Thames, Readipop, Rhythms of the World IOW, Geronimo, Harwich, Middlewich FAB, Feastival, Halifax Piece Hall, Oxford's Alice Day, Greenwich, Moseley Folk, Victorious Southsea, Festival of the Sky Cleethorpes, Holmfirth Arts and Milton Keynes; arts centres and theatres including mac in Birmingham, The Lowry in Salford, Lyme Regis and Bridport; European festivals - Sziget in Hungary, Earigail in Ireland and SKIrcus, Stoppenden Verden and Forde in Norway.
